LF: PC2700 184pin desktop ram

I have a friend that has a Compaq PC that he is only running 1x256mb ram (w/XPpro). He doesn't have much money, so I am hoping to pick up two inexpensive 512mb sticks of PC2700 ram for his PC. (This is really for his kid's school projects)

I might also be looking for two 1gb stick, if it is cheap enough, and give him the free upgrade from 2x512mb to 2x1gb, for only the cost of the 512mb sticks. I am not sure right now if his machine will handle 2x1gb, because I forgot to get his model number to confirm it.

I am researching eBay for a super deal, but thought that I would check here, too...
