Best battery
What is the best battery to get for a T43 and where to get it?
Any suggestions on how to make it last longer than a few years?

Re: Best battery
If "best" is longest lasting, then that would be an OEM IBM/Lenovo extended (72wh) as new as you can get it. Lenovo Scratch & Dent is safest or the Forum, then it's the vagaries of eBay. eBay is a crapshoot, but I've gotten some VERY good batteries at very low prices at times.
Family Daily Drivers- T430s, T530, X220

Re: Best battery
Speaking of Lenovo scratch and dent, I just bought a T4X,T5X battery there and it is as good as new. In fact I can't tell the difference from brand new. It has zero cycles and holds a perfect charge. This is the second scratch & dent battery I have gotten from the outlet. Highly recommended.

Re: Best battery
I notice that the T4* extended batteries are no longer available from the regular Lenovo website, nor from the Scratch & Dent site.
Are they no longer available (from Lenovo)? And good leads on where to pick up one or two? I don't really trust eBay for "new" batteries like this.

Re: Best battery
The 78wh battery would be even better. 48/72wh was the pre-T43 standard, while for the T43, which consumes more juice, IBM/Lenovo came out with 52/78wh batteries, in the same form factor, compatible with all previous models as well.schen wrote:If "best" is longest lasting, then that would be an OEM IBM/Lenovo extended (72wh) as new as you can get it.
Store it at 50% charge in a cool place and don't use it.Meta03 wrote:Any ideas how to make a battery last longer?

Re: Best battery
The 78Wh battery is for the T6x series. T43 is 48/72 and the older ones were 44/66
I bought a 52Wh 6 cell battery from freshbattery (www.freshbattery.com) . It looks very promising on their homepage, but so far it has been a big disappointment. They have VERY slow customer service, and the battery capacity was 20 % off after a short use. Waiting 2-3 months now for a replacement battery. Of course they don't reply to my emails.
I guess an original Lenovo battery is the only way to go.

No. Older ones are 48/72, T43 is 52/78, and T60 and later are 56/84. Check the HMM.
Edit: Just noticed that the HMM may actually be confusing, as it displays the rating in ampere-hours. To get the watt-hours rating, you need to multiply by 10.8, which is the voltage of the battery. You may instinctively try to multiply by 10, hence the numbers you quoted.
