Help with fingerprint installation on WinXP(X64)

#1 Post by pla748 » Wed Feb 25, 2009 3:32 am

I got my W700 last week. I want to install windows XP X64 edtion so that the 4G memory can be totally used.
However, the fingerprint does not work for me. after installing the lenovo ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software, it always told me that "cannot find fingerprint sensor device" while the fingerprint sensor device is right listed in the device manager (I set the driver for it with Authentech Inc AES2810. I am not sure if this one is correct).
Can anybody help me with this problem?

The Hotkey installation is also disappointed me. It can be installed, but only Fn+F4 works, maybe work for some else.

Thanks a lot!

Welcome to the forum!

What drivers do you use? XP x64 has never been officially supported by Lenovo. For the 64bit specific drivers you will have to look in their Vista (x64) driver matrix. For that matter some features like onscreen display/Fn+ were always problematic under XP x64 (depending on version and ThinkPad model)...
IBM Lenovo Z61p | 15.4'' WUXGA | Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 2x 2.16GHz | 4 GB Kingston HyperX | Hitachi 7K500 500 GB + WD 1TB (USB) | ATI Mobility FireGL V5200 | ThinkPad Atheros a/b/g | Analog Devices AD1981HD | Win 7 x86 + ArchLinux 2009.08 x64 (number crunching)

I forgot what drivers it is. No problem when installing.
