can an sxga+ screen be swapped into a t41 without it?

looking to buy a used t41, unfortunately it doesn't come with the sxga screen.

its still a good price for the machine, so i was wondering if in the future i would be able to buy an sxga screen off ebay or something to upgrade mine... not sure if the video chipset had anything to do with supporting the higher res.

any ideas?
