Hello
I have 2 T500s, Windows XP, all latest updates downloaded. Both are having problems with fpapp.exe.
Message 1: "The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in the application at location 0x10039c78" for fpapp.exe. The message comes just after entering the Windows password, while the Windows is starting up.
Message 2: "The instruction at "0x003c1498" referenced memory at "0x003c1498". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.
I have been working on the second PC to try and fix the problem. I cleaned the registry, deinstalled the fingerprint software, loaded the latest driver from the IBM site and reinstalled the fingerprint software. No luck. The error message changed from Message 1 to Message 2.
I don't actually need the fingerprint software (which is why I tried to deinstall the software - that just gave another error at startup). I would be happy just to get rid of the message in some way or form.
Can anyone help?
Thanks and regards
KDJ
