Access IBM key will not work

OK new guy here and I know just enough about computers to get me in trouble. I just got a refurb IBM T43 Thinkpad. It came with no user guide. I found on line that the Access IBM key would take me to a Guide. Well when I push it nothing happens. I found a fix for the 51s but not mine. It came with Windows XP. Can anyone help me with this? I did use the search but couldn't find anything.
