The new macbooks are more durable than the old MacBook Pros, but the X200 is far more durable. The new MBs may not dent as easily, but they will chip and scratch. The bummer is, there's no way to buff those out, either. Once your shiny Apple has a blemish, it's there for life.

Bottom line, go with the ThinkPad if you want durability, or go with the mac if you want to run OS X. If you want to do both, get an X61/X61s like me.

the x61/x61s are 4:3 notebooks, I'm pretty sure, so there's no chance they'll support WXGA resolution, but I think I might have read a mod regarding putting a higher rez screen in certain thinkpads here: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=71752

Being both a Thinkpad and long time Mac User, I'd look at it this way: Thinkpads have better hardware. I have a hard time using a trackpad and prefer the trackpoint.

Technically, both will run Windows XP and Vista, and both will run Mac OS X. Legally, only the MacBook can run Mac OS X at least unless Pystar gets favorable judgements in its cases with Apple. Psystar is a PC vendor that bundles the retail box of Mac OS X with its machines.

Both can run Windows XP/Vista and Mac OS X (and Linux, Solaris, etc.) in multiple boot configurations. Both can run any of these operating systems simultaneously with one OS running as host using VMWare (or Parallels on a Mac).
