Just got my T42p Q1U!

#1 Post by Puggy » Mon Jan 24, 2005 7:50 pm

Yay, I'm soooo happy. I'm writing on my spankin new Q1U.

I'll be browsing the forum to check out what are the first things I should do. If you have any special pointers, please let me know.

Thanks.

I got my Q1U last week. I added an extra gig of RAM, bought a Dock II, extra battery, and a few other extras.

My system has the Thai keyboard, batteries fit perfectly, no dead pixels... I am very happy.

My Q1U also arrived today as well...I couldn't be more pleased. I look forward to all that I'm sure I will learn here. Thanks.

Mine isn't a Q1U, but my batteries have been loosening up over time. Almost 5 months old and they're definitely looser than when I got it.

Just FYI,

Ok, so I discovered (i don't know if it's been covered in another post) without disassembling my laptop what model of keyboard I have.

I pressed the Access IBM button. Selected "System Information" button. Clicked on the "Warranty and Parts" button.

This generates a list of all the model parts the laptop has. Unfortunately mine has the 93P4840 keyboard, which is Chinesse.

Cheers!
