WTB: Under $450 Thinkpad Core Duo or better w/ warranty

#1 Post by minc3d » Mon Mar 02, 2009 6:38 pm

Hello All,

I have a family member looking for a Thinkpad but will not spend a penny more than $450 for it. They have some fairly loose guidelines, and I am posting on their behalf since I do the tech work in the family. Here is what we need:

* Any Thinkpad model that can meet the below guidelines. Size is not of concern as it will be used at home.
* Processor must be a Core Duo or better.
* Memory doesn't matter.
* HDD doesnt matter.
* Warranty needs to be at least one year, if more, BETTER
* Screen size at least 14" (rules out the small TPADS)
* Needs to have touchpad
* Good condition, nothing beat the hell out of
* Needs to have an optical drive with a DVD-ROM at least, of course, burners are preferred
* Needs to have a working battery
* LCD with no scratches or dead pixels, please

The biggest two requirements on the list are processor and warranty; we will take those into highest consideration among offerings.

If you have a laptop to offer, please email me with photos to dwtrash (at) gmail.com and I will get back to you soon. We can only do PAYPAL payments and are located in the Chicago, IL area. Thanks everyone!

I have done some research on ebay and know that many T60s, R60s, and Lenovo N series units come in at under this price tag so it CAN be done :)

We are OPEN to Thinkpad alternatives like the HP business line of laptops OR Dell Latitudes as well.
