I Googled Topcon BM-8 and did not have much luck finding a store that sells these and the price. Is this something that is reasonably priced, or a industrial grade expensive piece of test equipment? If affordable, I would enjoy having one of these to check my many ThinkPads, thereby eliminating my guesswork.... :)

Wow, I'd be very happy if you could then post your experiences here! With your amounts of thinkpads, these data would be very valuable for thinkpads.com

Rest assured that if I procure one of these meters I will be happy to fill requests for our members who would like data from the various models I own. I owe a lot to this forum, for all the nice people have done to assist me in my ThinkPad knowledge over the years, thus I am more than eager to give back as my time permits.

Also I own more ThinkPads than listed below, as the signature line is limited therefore I've simply entered my favorites. I have virtually every T-Model since they were released, each purchased new by me and maintained properly, thus the condition of each of these is easily a 9.5 to 10 [I'm so OCD... :P ...ha..ha..ha..]

Cheers...

A very good contrast ratio, but the brightness is a bit low for an ultraportable tablet.
Yes, it will be bad outside under the sun.

It would be nice to test a T60p BOA-Hydis LCD but I only have a 14 inch SXGA+ T60.

The key attribute of these Flexview no matter bad the brightness is, the contrast ratio shines.

If you are in the San Jose area I can come over to your place and test them. I saw a similar Minolta luminance meter on eBay.

Please, post the test results of this 14" SXGA+ screen for comparison with FlexView. We all know who is the winner, but it is interesting to see by which margin the win is. Thanks !

If someone has more information about contrast ratio about the new thinkpad models, that would be very great ! For me contrast ratio is much more important than brightness. I'd even think to pay for these informations :)
