For everyone's info, i've confirmed that you have 30 days after the product is invoiced to qualify for a price difference refund. It invoices when it ships, not necessarily when you order.

After much deliberation, chose the 2379R9U over 2379DXU (the discounted price diff was $125). Thanks for all your help, hopefully I shall receive my unit quickly, I was told that it would be arriving by Tuesday from China!

Got my T42p this morning (Monday), after I had ordered Thursday evening. It arrived fast from Hong Kong to the US in under 2 business days! I am considering upgrading my warranty to a 4th year + getting ThinkPad protection. Your thoughts ? Is it worth buying accidental protection ?

Get onsite repair & Thinkpad protection. Then sit back, relax, and enjoy your machine!

3 years plus Thinkpad Protection should be ideal.
I think that technology will advance quickly enough that keeping a notebook (any notebook) for 4 years is excessive. There is bound to be something more advanced 3 years from now, IMHO.
