new Update Connector won't work (t41)

i had 5.32, saw an update available 6.1.

i installed 6.1 and it uninstalled the older one. said "successful" but when i run it i get a message "error while gathering information about your system, call ibm helpcenter".

i called but the guy could not help me. i think bios is ok etc. any advice? if not, can i get a link to the older version to put it bacK? thanks

Hi,

I have a very new T42 and I have been having the same problem to get Update Connector v6.1 to work properly. You have to leave the Update Connector on for about an hour or two, sometimes longer to return the updates for your system!
