WTB: DVD/CDRW or DVDRW for A30p

#1 Post by fje » Mon Mar 09, 2009 11:46 am

I'd like to buy a combo drive for an A30p Thinkpad, either a DVD/CDRW or a DVDRW burner. Looking at the forum I'm not sure to have found any compatible one.

Any offer ?

For the A30/A31 machines you'll be looking for Ultrabay 2000 format. See this website for a compatibility matrix: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Ultrabay
Current Thinkpads: 600E, 600X, 701C, A31 (Flexview), R51 (Flexview), R60, T42P (Flexview), TR50E, T60 (Flexview), X61s (Ultralight), Z61m (Ti) Non-Thinkpad: Toshiba 100ct

virge,

thanks for the url reference (very useful, indeed, I already had it since I tried to find out a similar one for my T42, being this one for the A30p of the daughter of a friend of mine).

Problem is that not all the people putting in selling a drive tells the interface it has. Some times they say which thinkpad it comes from, but it could have the appropiate interface or need an adapter, or be valid for a A30p provided the appropiate adapter is put in place.

This is the reason for my "not sure to have found a compatible one".
