I just bought an X32 off eBay, and can't wait to get my paws on it. I used to use them in the IBM lab where I worked ... loved the little rascals.
I've used my T43 for years now, and had upgraded it to 2x 1GB PC4200 memory sticks ... leaving the original OEM 512MB stick in a box somewhere. Never got around to selling it. Could I use it in the X32, or do I need to use the same speed memory? I could buy a 1GB PC2700 for ~ $39 online (maybe less? anyone want to sell some?), but reusing things that I've squirreled away is a fault of mine.
Any suggestions welcome. I'm thinking of putting my 2nd-HDD Hitachi TravelStar 7200 RPM 100GB drive in it as well. If I can't make recovery disks, I'll be in the market for those too..... (drifts off into dreaming)

No personal experience w/ the 4200 RAM, but I understand that the x31's (and therefore, probably, the x32) would simply cycle the PC4200 RAM down the PC2700 speed to ensure they operate together. If, in fact, the x32 will take PC4200 RAM.davidspalding wrote:I just bought an X32 off eBay, and can't wait to get my paws on it. The ddr2 ram from a T43 will not work in an X32, which uses plain DDR. The X32 can use the drive though.
