T60 1-3-3-1 beeps at post.

#1 Post by Reo51St » Sat Mar 14, 2009 12:08 pm

I am working on a T60 2007-46U that is giving me the 1-3-3-1 beep codes???

Have replaced the memory with known good ones.

Removed the CD, HDD, battery and removed and reconnected the BIOS battery.

Still the same results.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

According to Beep and no beep symptoms - ThinkPad General it there says:
Symptom or error: One short beep, pause, three short beeps, pause, three more short beeps, and one short beep.

Service part or action, in sequence: 1. DIMM, 2. System board
That doesn't look too good, it seems... :-(

Would this be considered a reflow or is there another problem???

This T60 does not look like it had been used for more than a few weeks.

No keyboard or palmrest wear! All tested good in another unit!

LCD tested excellent!

I know I’m trying to stay away from the motherboard!!!

Does anyone have any other suggestions before I put another TP in the reflow pile?

Thanks again.

I would inspect the motherboard (top and bottom) for signs of spill damage.

IIRCC: Isnt 1-3-3-1 the DIMM error code?

Try to test the machine with one Ram at a time.. It could be a defective RAM :)
