I recently swapped out a motherboard to an in-warranty X60 Tablet. it's a long story, but it was necessary. Anyway, the new motherboard obviously has a different serial number.
I have the Thinkpad maintenance disk to swap machine type 40 and type 20 serial numbers, but I am wondering if anyone has any post-warranty experience. I am asking because it would still be obvious that the LAN MAC among other things would still be different.
What I mean is if the numbers are transferred correctly, then from my understanding that the only identification needed for warranty service are the type 40 and 20 serial numbers and nothing else. Can someone please confirm this? Thanks!

Re: Motherboard Serial Number & Warranty Service
Yeah I don't think anyone at a service center is going to verify your MAC address, nor would they care to.
