There are none that I am aware of, as this is not a ThinkPad issue, it's industry wide....dr_st wrote:More importantly, which recent HP models featured 4:3 screens? I don't think I know of any.

Re: Non-widescreen T500 rumor!
When IBM/Lenovo went non-widescreen, we decided that Dell's lower prices removed the reason to stick with Lenovo. I was in the room when the decision was made. Some evidence that the accounts were lost specifically because of screen aspect ratio would add credilbility.
FYI, today we give employees a choice between older non-widescreen laptops (mostly used T42's), Toughbooks, and widescreen Dell's. Currently, it's about evenly split between the three, though the helpdesk hates the toughbooks. If/when Lenovo comes through with a good non-widescreen machine, I'm certain we'll go with it.

I witnessed a major health care provider in our state, make a similar choice to move to Dell. Only in this case not only did they switch to Dell laptops, but Dell servers and support. Just one year later their IT expense had shot through the roof, so out went the Dells. Funny how even some of the most experienced companies can make such a huge mistake.textpxy wrote:<snip>When IBM/Lenovo went non-widescreen, we decided that Dell's lower prices removed the reason to stick with Lenovo. Just think, not only did they find out that Dells do not hold up (in the case of the laptops especially) but they are also more expensive when put into mission critical service, where they must perform daily. Then unfortunately for Dell, the employees, the nurses, the doctors, everyone was left with a bad feeling about Dell. As a result the impact on Dell was quite negative.
At the end of the day it remains a live and learn world out there...
Cheers...

Yes, after reading how people/companies switched to HP and Dell. Just wanted to reinforce my advocacy for thinkpads.yak wrote: Was it enough of a reason to dig out that thread?
