T41 help

#1 Post by nyatver » Tue Mar 17, 2009 2:22 pm

i have an ibm t41. it would not see the power cord. it does see the battery. i took it apart and was checking the power input. accidently sparked. it does turn on. i was reloading xp and got about 55% of coping files and the computer shut off. i had to take out the battery and put it back in to get it to start again. i started to reload xp again and just stopped before it started loading anything. the battery is at 90%. what could be wrong?

My guess is that you "cooked" the power circuitry.

Is it turning off at one of the several reboots it performs when reinstalling XP?

Maybe your battery can't deliver enough juice to go through the reload process. Could be a fried power circuit or a disconnected power jack. Is the jack loose?
