T42 board replacement...

Hi all:

I think my 5 yr old trusty T42 needs a new motherboard. It has developed the USB / GPU problem. No display if I hold the laptop on the left side with one hand. USB is constantly downgraded to 1.1. My question is that can I just get any motherboard any T42 or I have to get one specifically for my model (2378-FUU). Thanks so much for you help.

Welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear of your T42 trouble.

The only real difference between any T40-T42 board is the GPU. Yours has the ATI 7500 GPU.
