R32- after 0175error and replacing the board it beeps

#1 Post by Wiking » Fri Mar 20, 2009 6:34 pm

Hi
My model is IBM R32 2658 -mmg
I had a 0175error. I bought a new motherboard from ebay and gave it to Lenovo service provider to replace with the old one.
They had replaced it (Lenovo service provider in Berlin) but now I have another problem:
When I power it on, it makes 4 cycles of 4 beeps + black screen.
The service provider doesn't know what is the problem, funny...
I read all about it and understand that this is a security chip problem but my old motherboard have no security chip. The ne board have no security chip also. I looked very carefully but not found it and also it says by IBM that planar serial 91P7824 has no security chip.
So, I don't understand how it shows problem with something that doesn't exist ???
Thanks for everyone that can offer a solution.

Have you still got your old motherboard?
That can be repaired under certain circumstances.
PM me if interested.
