T61p- bothersome sound during High Performance mode

#1 Post by poiuytrewq23 » Sat Mar 21, 2009 12:50 pm

Hi, I've got unpleasant problem with my T61p (6460-6XG)- during High Performance mode work I hear grating sound/squeak/peep from laptop - during normal working as well as while use batery(than this sound is lauter). When I change to Save Energy mode this sound is quite unnoticeable (but it's still present). I heard that it's "common" problem but I haven't found any soutions to fix it. Do you have similar problem? Is there any way to solve/repair it?

It sounds like it might be a problem with the fan. You might want to try popping out the bezel and keyboard to take a look.
