Wanted info on thinkpad trade-feeler on value of X31 i guess

#1 Post by SaberX » Thu Mar 26, 2009 4:45 pm

First sorry if this is not the correct forum to put this in.Not sure where to put it.

I was wondering if a trade of my X31 is a fair trade for a T60.

My X31 has 2 gigs ram,new 160gig hard drive,the nice keyboard with no shine,LCD is nice and bright,not a mark on my X31 anywhere.Looks almost new.at least 9.8 / 10.

Would it be fair to look for a low end T60.?

I know the prices of the T60's have dropped but have they dropped to the value of a nice loaded X31 yet?

Or maybe any other thinkpad that takes SATA hard drives and core duo cpu's?

A good place to start for trading one good for another is to check each actual value. Prices usually represent value. You'll like to find out prices for the goods you are interested to trade on this marketplace, on ebay or other third party merchants.

What are the specs of the T60?

SATA drives are great, I just bought a 320GB drive for $50! You are going to see more capacity increases, speed increases, and price drops with SATA compared to IDE.

But the most important question is what do you need? A small screen or larger screen? Higher performance or more portability.

If you are trading to sell, usually a newer model is always easy to sell, but I think the market is more saturated with midrange machines than ultra-portables. Look how many T61's aren't selling.

And you could always sell the X31 and use the proceeds to purchase a higher-spec'd T60/61 for $100-200 more.

I dont have any T60 in mind.Just wondering if it's worth putting up a full trade post or not.

I have my Dell with WUXGA for my main system. This X31 i have is just a "for fun" system to play around with.Just trying out diffrent system's as a hobby.
I'm thinking a low spec intel video T60 OR a ATI video T60 barebones(no ram,hdd,dvd).
Maybe i'll use this X31 for a while .I had many thinkpads and laptops and this X31 is the nicest one i had so far.
