From what I have seen the 5300 supports Wimax wireless. Intel's specs can be found here.

With current commonly available WiFi 802.11n access points, there is no difference.

The 5300 supports "3x3 MIMO" operation, which will give higher speed operation (~450 Mbps) over the common 802.11n "2x3 MIMO" implementations

The 5300 will operate in both 2x3 and 3x3 modes for 802.11n, while the 5100 will operate only in the 2x3 mode for 802.11n

Cheers,

I wouldn't upgrade but thats just me. I bought my T400 used so it already came with it.

My parts list shows FRU 43Y6495.

I believe 5350 supports WiMax, not 5300.

If you read the specs for 5100 and 5300, 5300 supports higher (in theory) maximum throughput for Wifi n implementation (450Mbps vs 300Mbps) and greater range, provided your access point supports it of course.

Guys, I'm trying to figure if it's possible to install 5300 on X300. I've been serching around but I couldn't find an answer to this question.

Thanks,
Yury
