FS: X40/X41 Compact Flash setup
I decided to sell off CF setup from X40 in my sig. The setup includes:
1. Addonics dual-card IDE-to-CF adapter
2. Lexar 8GB 300x CF card
3. Ridata 16GB 233x CF card
This setup has been barely used since I use my desktop over 99% of the time. I've used it for probably less than 8 hours combined since new and most of that was probably reads anyway. The overall condition is like new.
The beauty of this setup is that it takes care of X40's main problem: the non-standard, noisy, unreliable hard disk. After starting to use this SSD, I noticed the machine was booting noticeably faster, it was much quieter because there were no moving parts and palmrest was cooler to touch since it produces less heat apparently. The 8GB card was used as boot drive, it's very fast, probably on par with a 7200rpm hard disk if not faster in some cases. The Ridata also has decent speed. The Addonics adapter was instantly recognizable and worked well under Linux (Xubuntu) without having to do any serious tweaks.
I'm looking for $110 shipped in USA for everything, $10 more anywhere else. I might even be a little flexible about the price. I might consider selling it in pieces but I would prefer to sell this off as one piece. Probably even have some of the original boxes somewhere, whatever I can find, I will throw in.
