T60p 15" SXGA+, UXGA inverter board pinout
T60p 15" SXGA+, UXGA inverter board pinout
Does anyone know the pin assignment of the inverter board connector (part n° 42T0079) for flexview 15" SXGA+ and UXGA LCD pannels ?
Thanks a lot for any clue !

If you can download the datasheet for either of the screens, since the pinouts are probably in there, and the inverter plugs into the screen, you will have the pinouts from the inverter by looking at the pinouts from the screen.
I do not know if the screen you are talking about are the same, but the screen I have, and flexview is lenovos term for IPS I think, is a boe-hydis 15" uxga IPS, and I downloaded the datasheet for it once.
You might be able to find the parts numbers of the screens in the hardware maintenance manual.

There is not a datasheet for the LCD cable. I have never seen any documentation. One thing I learned (the hard way) is that using the wrong LCD cable to test an inverter can short out the motherboard.

You are a lucky guy with this screen, I'am currently trying to buy one...AHuan wrote:If you can download the datasheet for either of the screens, since the pinouts are probably in there, and the inverter plugs into the screen, you will have the pinouts from the inverter by looking at the pinouts from the screen.

In fact I was thinking about the pinouts mother board<->inverter board, sorry for the confusion.
part numbers : SXGA+ flexview LCD panel : 13N7078 (LG) ; 13N7196 (BOE Hydis)
UXGA flexview LCD panel : 13N7076 ; 13N7194 (sRGB)
inverter board for flexview SVGA+/UXGA panels : 42T0079 (RoHS)
Datasheet of the UXGA screen can be found here http://www.beck-oled-lcd-tft-display.de ... X1-101.pdf
The inverter board can be bought here http://www.itxchange.com/itxchange/prod ... rc=Website
I can't find datasheet for the inverter board or the pinouts for the motherboard inverter connector...

Thanks for your advice.richk wrote:There is not a datasheet for the LCD cable. I have never seen any documentation. One thing I learned (the hard way) is that using the wrong LCD cable to test an inverter can short out the motherboard.
That's too bad if there is no doc for the inverter connector (motherboard side).
I would like to connect one flexview UXGA screen to the commel LS-373 embeded motherboard http://www.commell.com.tw/product/SBC/LS-373.HTM .
So I need the pinouts of the panel (found in the panel datasheet) AND the pinouts of the inverter connector !

Have a look at this site, loads of LCD datasheets. Maybe your info is hidden there too?

If I understand correctly, I think you are going in the wrong direction. You need and inverter and cable to match your motherboard and then confirm the inverter has high enough output to drive thr LCD.

Richk, I think you are making the same assumption I did : that he wants to put the panel in his thinkpad. Sounds like he wants the pinouts for some electronics project.
What I said about getting the pinouts for the screen is still useful for the inverter: The cables are flat, the wires do not cross. So the pinouts on the screen are the mirror image of the pinouts on the inverter, since the inverter plugs into the screen.

The inverter boards are proprietary, and official pinouts do not exist. In fact there is no standard pinout between all manufactufacturers, like panels which follow the SPWG B standard.
30 wires goes from the laptop motherboards to the LCD driver board. This is your typical LVDS class interface. An additional amount of wires goes from the same connector in the motherboard, but breaks off, as in a Y junction, and goes to the inverter/status LED board.
These additional amount of wires must control signals/pulses sent for CCFL brightness control which is probably done using a programmable voltage divider, another for GND, a third for Vcc, and a voltage connection for each indicator light (and common ground) - unless these are time-divisioned inputs - but i doubt that.
The output of the inverter board is a standard 2 pin high voltage output (up to 1,4kV) and current limited.
This is more or less the overall structure... i have nothing but a T42 inverter that i could try to determine the pinout of right now though
By the way, i see the system/board you are considering has a 40 pin LVDS (dual channel). You want to use dual channel with the UXGA display, but you will need to make a DIY connector it seems. I don't even get why they have that pinout compared to Table 9 in http://developer.intel.com/design/intar ... 315975.pdf ... maybe the one shown in that Intel paper turned out not to be final at all.. hmm.
