When I go to System Properties -> System Protection -> Automatic Restore Points
I see the following available disks
SERVICEV003 (S:)
SW_Preload (C:) (System)
Lenovo (Q:)
SW_Preload (C:) (Missing)
And I only have one tick in front of SW_Preload (C:) (Missing) , clearly it is some sort of bug, why does it say missing ? This picture is after total factory restoration.
And what are other partions for ?
Many thanks ! )

Re: Missing partion within my Restore points menu on X301
My guess is that the missing SW_Preload (C:) is the old one, and some part of its entry has remained in the partition table despite (or because of (?) ) the restore to factory contents, hence it can be read by System Protection (just my guess here). What do you see under Disk Management?
Q partition is the Lenovo recovery partition that contains compressed form of their preload image and that can be used for various recovery options including factory restore. I believe S partition contains the bootloader for both Q and C as well as Rescue&Recovery predesktop area, so you can boot into the latter using the ThinkVantage button upon power-on. Since one needs the predesktop area in order to be able to use the contents of the recovery partition, partition Q would be useless without partition S.
Hope this helps,
Marin

Re: Missing partion within my Restore points menu on X301
Yeah, that certainly helps! Thanks
In disk management I dont see anything abnormal - 3 partions, C:, S:, Q: as intended. So that missing thing really puzzles me, whats more confusing is that it appears on absolutelly clean factory install. I googled it up and it appears that there are other people who are experiencing similar issue, however I could not find any sensible explanation as to what the problem is.
Also is there any way to hide somehow S: and Q: so that if someone "smart" accidentally gets access to my computer, they cant possibly do anything to cause any problems in restore system ?
