Non-IBM 14.1" SXGA+ compatible with Thinkpad T20/21/22/23?

#1 Post by RealBlackStuff » Sat Apr 04, 2009 4:36 pm

Does anyone know of a non-IBM 14.1" SXGA+ LCD that is compatible with Thinkpad T20/21/22/23?

(The HP below has been torpedoed)
Does anyone have one of the following HP or Compaq laptops with a 14.1" SXGA+ LCD:
HP Compaq Business Notebook NC6000, NC6200, NC6220, NC6230
HP OmniBook VT6200 or XT6200 Series
Compaq Evo N180 Series
Compaq Evo N600C, N610C, N620C Series
Compaq Presario 1700 Series 1710, 1720, 1720CA, 1720US, 1722
Compaq Presario 2700 Series 2700T
If so, do you know the manufacturer (Samsung/Hitachi/IDTech/LG-Philips etc.) and Mfg.-partnumber(s)?
And could you please also report the HP/Compaq LCD part number?
Maybe some of them are compatible with 'our' T2x Series Thinkpads!

Thank you for any and all info on this subject.

My daughter has a NC6220 with a 14" SXGA+, you're welcome to take a look at it and dis-assemble it anytime. However...

The LCD itself is a piece of junk, and the only thing that ruins a very decent laptop. If I remember correctly, these are rated at 150 nits and that really doesn't help...

Thanks for the info George.
Do you mean junk compared to a T23 SXGA+ or junk compared to a fancy 15" UXGA BoeHydis?
Or just junk in general?
The availability of T23 SXGA+ panels is dying fast, hence the request.
Personally I don't want an SXGA+ 14.1" laptop, not good for my eyes, but there are others that just love 'em.

Junk compared to a well-kept T23 panel of any kind...

As I've stated, the laptop itself, although not a ThinkPad, is quite decent, and takes abuse very well. However, LCD is inferior to the rest of the machine by a huge margin.

Next question:
is anybody aware of other brand laptops (Dell, Acer, Gateway etc.) that (might) have a T2x pin-compatible 14.1" SXGA+ LCD?
