pm-utils w/ X31

any ideas of the sort of specific measures I should take trying to use pm-hibernate with my X31? atm, it only works if I turn the power back on right away after hibernating. if I wait, it hangs when trying to resume. when suspending the console, specifically.
Frankenpad X31.5 (X31 casing, X32 motherboard) 1.8ghz Pentium M processor, 1gb RAM,
60gb HDD dual booting Arch GNU/Linux && Windows XP

Do you have latest BIOS ? I had problems with resuming from hibernate state and the latest BIOS version solved it.
