Removing and replacing a fansink on a 7675-4KU X61

#1 Post by Marginal » Mon Apr 06, 2009 10:43 am

Has anyone done that yet  ?
My fan got too loud (I think I damaged its bearing while I blew compressed air in order to get rid of the dust inside).
I received today the replacement fansink by the mail and am about to do it, but I feel a little insecure, as there are too many parts to be dismantled before I can reach the part itself.
Any help would be appreciated.

Regards.

If you haven't done it yet, download the x61 Hardware Maintenance Manual from here:

http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc ... 550_04.pdf

And then it will be like putting a piece of Ikea furniture together - except the Thinkpad instructions are better.

Good luck,
John
