Battery Question (pic)

#1 Post by spot_ex » Fri Apr 10, 2009 3:56 am

I have a question about the meaning of this symbol (shown by the red arrows) in the Battery MaxiMizer tool. Why is it standing there for and is it for good or not?

And the Full Charge Capacity is changing every time I charge/discharge the battery, is it normal? It change range is +/- 1-1.5 Wh. What abaout that?

Thanks

Nah, it is the asterisk of death... you get it when the battery health gets to yellow in the power manager, which is in turn determined by a simple stupid algorithm - cycles done vs. battery age vs. capacity. It is in software only, not written in battery controller.

When the health indicator gets red , you get two asterisks.. Maybe it's just a reminder for IBM engineers so they wouldn't have to scroll the tabs in the battery info window. This I really don't know.
