Golf: Masters Frustration

#1 Post by RealBlackStuff » Sat Apr 11, 2009 12:13 pm

Trying to watch the Masters in Augusta.
Instead of showing us the actual golf, why do we have to listen to all these crappy commentators?
Are there no cameras allowed in Augusta?
It is extremely frustrating!

PS: I can't post in the "Off Topic" forum, sorry. (I hope Bill is working on this...)

The Masters tournament is being shown on BBC here in the UK and we get good coverage (no adverts), but the BBC has to fill the gaps when CBS (I think they are the broadcast company) cuts to their adverts.

The whole idea of advertising on TV is, IMO, completely stupid, especially during sports coverage. The exception to this is American football where an 80 minute game lasts for hours because of time outs.

So there is coverage! I am soooooo jealous!
I remember watching it when we were still living in Ireland.
I don't know why those eejits in the USA don't show any live Masters here, just the blabla!

The BBC has a feed of holes 11, 12, and 13 whenever play is taking place there. It only needs a few cameras.
The other holes are used as fill in so they can cut the advertising slots. It works rather well.
BTW, it is shown in HD so the quality is superb.

Sorry, RBS, I didn't want to make you jealous.

... and a few pints of stout always makes the golf more exciting. :)

A few? I think I'll need at least a dozen pints to drown my sorrow!

It must be blacked out because of your location. It is being broadcast on CBS here in the midwest.

Aha, RBS, so now you can see all the lardy spectators waddling around the course. It is a horrible site.

What do those people weigh? They all wear shorts trousers with fat, white legs. No black people either. Are they banned?

Tiger Woods was teeing off on a par 5 and some idiot yelled, "In the hole!"

Do the speckled potatoes understand golf?

The term "lardy" seems to apply to a lot of natives (read US citizens).
This country must have the largest number of overweight people!

There used to be an issue with non-caucasians on the Masters' golfcourse, but they had to change that after Tiger Woods won.
They had similar issues with admitting women.
No comments, because I am only an "alien" in this country.

 Some idiot invariably screams some variation of "get in the hole" at the least opportune moment possible at least once in every American golf tournament.
