Bluetooth mouse recomendations?

#1 Post by umdenken » Fri Jan 28, 2005 4:23 pm

Hi,

I'm checking out Bluetooth mice. I'd like one that's a bit smaller than the typical "deluxe mouse" currently made, usually aimed at the desktop user. Anybody have anything that they like and has turned out to work well with a T42?

Thanks!
IBM Thinkpad T42 (2373-N1U), 15" SXGA+, 100 gig hd (new Hitachi 5k120), 1.5 gig ram, fingerprint reader, running Ubuntu 7.04

Awesome! I'm looking for the same thing and I was thinking of posting that question before I read yours. That makes 2 people looking... Any suggestions?

Here's the mouse I'm currently looking at. Seems to have everything I'm looking for. IE, I'll be using it only when on the go with my notebook, turning it on for an hour or two at a time, and then turning it off again:

Here's a review I found:

Interesting... Doesn't look like it would be too comfortable though. I wish there were a bluetooth version of the Logitech MX1000. That would be ideal in my opinion. It would be nice to have that high of a resolution mouse with a screen resolution of 1400x1050 like my T42 has! :) Another one I've been looking at is the Microsoft Intellimouse. I have a wireless version of it (not BT unfortunately) and although it is a wee bit large, it is incredibly comfortable.

IOGEAR makes one. Unfortunately, it's butt ugly.

*GASP* I didn't know they made mice that ugly! I also thought you might be exaggerating but that mouse even LOOKS like a butt! YUCK!

not bluetooth but,

This one isn't bluetooth, but I really like it. It's got 1000 dpi and the small transmitter fits inside the mouse for travel. I'm just hoping they make bluetooth version of it soon. It's very responsive.

This is the notebook mouse that I use and love it. I too wish it were bluetooth. If they do come out with one exactly like it BT then I will be all over it also.

I vouch for the latest microsoft explorer bluetooth mouse. I wish the scrollwheel had a little more resistance, but other than that it's perfect. It's great to finally be able to throw the thinkpad in the bag and just a mouse --no cord, no base station, no nothing.
I think the next generation is going to have a on/off button, which would be great at saving battery life.
But mine has used the 2 aa batteries (alkaline) since Dec 23 or so, and the battery looks to be about 80% full. Somewhere else someone said that he used his 8 hrs a day for 6 weeks before the batteries ran out. I only use mine about 4-5 hrs a day. Either way, I have heard the bluetooth logitech's battery stinks, which is why I went with the microsoft mouse.
