[r60] hotkeys' OSD disappeared after fresh-install

#1 Post by joshrob » Tue Apr 14, 2009 4:09 pm

Hi,

I've just succesfully fresh-installed XPP SP3 on my r60. The one and only thing that went wrong is the OSD. I've reinstalled the hotkey 7zvu09ww.exe package a couple of times, but it did not help.

The "size" dropdown box in the "On Screen Display" tab in "screen properties" widnow keeps ignoring the values I choose and always resets itself to "blank" (not small, medium, large, but "blank" option) and all I see, when I press for example the volume-up button, is a 2px-tiny dot in the place where OSD used to be.

Any ideas?

Regards,
J.

Did you run SETUP.EXE from C:\Drivers\Win\HOTKEY\ ? Did you install the Lenovo Video driver for your ThinkPad [not positive if this is required or not]?

Yes. I've tried a couple of times with the same result.

Only the display driver from "C:\DRIVERS\WIN\DISPLAY\Driver"; no CCC nor any other ATI stuff, just the driver.

You can toggle the OSD from a right-click on the Desktop > Properties > Advanced > On Screen Display (IIRC).

If I'm not mistaken, you should run SETUP.EXE from C:\DRIVERS\WIN\DISPLAY\ . You might be missing some additional software if you only installed the driver from Device Manager.

I would check that you have installed the ACPI Power Management driver from Lenovo (7zku53ww.exe). You should also have the Intel Chipset drivers installed.
