#1 Post by ThinkPad560X » Fri Apr 17, 2009 2:22 am

I have a IBM IDE Desktop 6.00GB Hard Drive and the top row first pin was pushed in and now the Computer is saying Primary Hard disk drive 0 not found
strike the F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility.
I'm using the Drive in a DELL Desktop.
need a way to fix. I used a needle nose plyers and pulled the pin back up even with the rest and still same error.

Somehow you must have broken the contact from that pin 1.
Don't know if you can follow the 'circuit' with a multimeter and perhaps solder a small bridging wire?
On those older HDs there was a lot more access to the printed circuit board than today.
If you can't fix it, you have an elegant door stopper 8)

It isn't a big deal just used the Hard Drive to repair other computers Desktops to make sure they ran the Hard Drive and such. 6GB today isn't good for Windows XP or vista due to all the updates it gets. My friend said he'll give me a WD 160GB Hard Drive.
