I don't know, to be honest.
However, I'd say your money is MUCH better spent on a real SSD (either Samsung, Intel X25-M, or OCZ Vertex) because everything else (including this mini-PCIe thing) has crappy controllers and will usually slow down to sub-HDD speeds within a few weeks of regular use.

Re: Super Talent 16GB MLC Mini PCIe SATA2 Solid State Drive
has anyone actually tried this thing in a Thinkpad though?
Would it be as simple as installing the chip, and then moving the OS partition over to the new drive?
I've read on Netbook forums that ppl had had very positive experiences after upgrading from their crappy little 4gig PCIe SSDs.
I was looking at maybe adding a 32gig or 64gig PCIe SSD on my tablet, so I can swap out my 7K200 Hitachi for a half terabyte Samsung
fast OS drive + plenty of storage = best of both worlds

Re: Super Talent 16GB MLC Mini PCIe SATA2 Solid State Drive
It should be usable like any normal sata2 hard drive. I haven't tried.
But I have been thinking about using the PCIe SATA2 SSD instead of my internal hard drive. I would reduce my the weght of my thinkpad if I removed the hard drive and install one PCIE SATA2 SSD.

I have considered this too, but the consensus seems to be that it will only work as a storage drive. The Thinkpad BIOS will not allow you to boot off of mini-PCIE. In fact, I have only known Netbook motherboards to boot from PCIE. Of course, that doesn't preclude you from putting the boot sector on another drive.

Can we ask Lenovo to update the bios to support booting from min-PCIE?closersource wrote:I have considered this too, but the consensus seems to be that it will only work as a storage drive.
