Best way is to get a 2.5" USB enclosure for IDE/ATA, around $7.- on Fleabay

I've used these 'outside the enclosure' adapters with great success. They are very useful to have as a troubleshooting tool, to migrate data, etc.Harryc wrote:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6812232002

Relatively cheap and they can save you hours and $ when you least expect it.

True, as an example just the other day I attached a full sized 5.25" SATA CD/RW to an X61s and used it to boot installation media.

What about the bad power connectors, as mentioned in customer reviews?
Wouldn't this Apricorn be better? (currently at the same price)

I have the Roswell brand version of this adapter from NewEgg and it works well so far.RealBlackStuff wrote:What about the bad power connectors, as mentioned in customer reviews?
