memory problem in t23

#1 Post by czukuczuku » Mon Apr 20, 2009 12:02 pm

hi, i have strange problem with my t23 (866mhz); one of my memory slots "dont see" 512mb sdr (no problem with 256mb), second slot (near me) see both well. but not always; about 1 on 20 power on's i have 1-3-3-1 beep, no mater how many and where is placed ram, is it 256 or 512. i checked memorys with memtest and pc doctor, and they passed tests, i also placed them in other t23 and they worked fine also. i looked on mobo ram slots, didnt notice anything strange, everythings seems fine...

second strange thing is that somethimes when i turn on computer, i see only black screen, no any beep, bios screen, then i can only turn off and again on, 1 or 2 times, after this in boot up right, maybe its again ram guilt...

and dono should i try to return it to the seller, as i bought it about 10 days ago, or maybe this mallfunctions wont go any further, thought as for present i can affor it

Sounds like you may need to resolder the memory slot contacts on the motherboard. To do so, you need a 25W-30W soldering iron with a fine tip, and some flux.
If you are not handy with such a tool, I would return it and start looking for a better T23 with at least 1.00GHz CPU, or the most common 1.13GHz CPU.
