Can't get my monitor to "sleep".
Used Power Options to try several different settings (1,2 & 5 minutes) but my monitor stays on. Anyone have a fix? Using WinXP PRO on my T23...
Thanks.
Thanks.

Try setting/activating it in your BIOS.

Since I've seen your username here before I'm pretty sure you have the necessary updates from Lenovo right?

Yes, I keep up to date with the downloads. This AM I ran Power Options (again) and set the screen disable timer to 1 minute... when I got back in the afternoon, the screen was blank. Did a bit of work and walked away and lo/behold it blanked again. Go Figure! If there's any problem that's a stickler it's an intermittent one. Agree? Thanks.emeraldgirl08 wrote:Since I've seen your username here before I'm pretty sure you have the necessary updates from Lenovo right?

It can also be a Windows Power Manager problem as well. I've had some systems temporarily "forget" what they're supposed to do with the screen timeout, hard drive power down, standby and hibernate modes. Even if you check the settings and they look okay, you can sometimes fix the problem by toggling one of the settings (set it to a different option and then back to the one you want), then click the "Apply" button.

Looks like certain programs when run "interfere" with the Power Manager's settings. Rebooting fixes this, but if the suspect programs are run, the saver is zapped. Using the Fn/F3 combo will zap the screen but that's a brute-force fix... no "finesse" (as my Assembler Program prof chastized against).rkawakami wrote:It can also be a Windows Power Manager problem as well.
