T30 wireless problems

Hi there,

I have recently got a cheep thinkpad T30 (2366-8AG) wich came with a wireless card installed.

however I had to reinstall windows XP (home) as the computer came "Blank" as it were and now the computer does not know that it has this card.

I have tried to download the software from cisco systems but seem to be getting no-where.

I have tried downloading the drivers but the wireless modem is not showing on device manager.

In desperation I tried putting in the wireless card from my other laptop - hp dv3000 but that never worked but at least confirmed that the card reader/port is working.

the downside of this is that now the HP laptop doesnt work. start up HDD runs for a copule of seconds then nothing - simpily nothing happens - lights come on but windows makes no attempt to start up - even when turning the computer on with a xp cd in the drive.

so I have two issues here really,

How can I get my t30 to know that it has a wireless card & get it working. - I know the card worked before the re-install of windows.

and secondly - does anyone have any idea wha I have done to the HP laptop and anything I may be able to do to save it?

For the T30, start with posting the model number of the wireless card. You might have the wrong driver or the card may just be bad. I've had that happen a couple times.

For the HP, have you tried booting the computer without the wireless card installed?
