Instability of nvidio Quadro FX 570m vidio drivers

#1 Post by rwilcher » Wed Apr 22, 2009 11:22 am

Hello All. Any have any experience with the above ? This is a dual core T62p laptop with wide display running Vista pro. I did the windows update dance and after the nvidia driver install from Ms update, the machine became very unstable. (BSOD restart) . I had to disable the updated driver to make the machine useable again. Clearly this kinda blows. Without the driver, the screen updates are slow and painful.
With the driver that machine is very quick BUT not for very long. The box hangs and after about 30 seconds reboots. Looks like this is a known issue as googling around shows others with this problem.
Thanks.

Thought I would update this issue as theres a suboptimal workaround
that kinda makes it stable. Going into BIOS and disabling speed step,
it (the lappy) works much better. Of course it only works at 50% it
seems but 50% and stable > 100% and flakey. Found this googling
around for others having this problem. Least I can use it. Seems
like a manufacturer chipset/motherboard problem and it's not
just me for once.
:(

Your problem is using MS update. That will quickly ruin a system. Get all your drivers from here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 67853.html
