FS: IBM ThinkPad T60 (2007-C5U)

#1 Post by Conmee » Wed Apr 22, 2009 2:35 pm

Hi all,

I have an eBay auction up for a 'like new' IBM-branded T60 which is still under warranty until 8-29-2009 (EZServ/Depot). If you prefer the T60 quality, IBM branding, Windows XP SP2, and 4:3 1400x1050 screen, this one is great. I bought it last summer from California Computer Center's overstock in Los Angeles, mainly out of nostalgia and also to have a backup 4:3 LCD ThinkPad. It's never left the house and probably has a week total of compute time. Pristine condition, perfect screen (no dead or stuck pixels). The T60 comes with 4GB RAM installed (but only 3GB is accessible, regardless of 64-bit OS due to the older chipset). I've also thrown in a spare Western Digital Scorpio Black 250GB 7200RPM HDD that you can swap the factory 80GB HDD with, as well as a brand new spare palmrest and spare fan (I always like to have backup components).

Anyhow, I am downsizing, selling spare computers (I have finally given up and will submit to widescreen displays..lol) and spare guitars. But I digress. Here's the eBay auction if you're interested...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0411653324

Original "Buy Now" price was $750, but I've listed the system with no reserve, and of course, someone always bids $1. lol. So I can't exactly list a sale price anymore, it will simply sell to the highest bid at the end of the auction. Right now, it can be yours for $2!!! lol

I have 100% feedback (138 positive ratings), been an eBay member since 1999, and without putting words in Bill's mouth, Mr. Morrow can vouche for me as I've been a long-time member of Thinkpads.com even back to the old forum days. So I guess you could say I'm trustworthy even if I believe in alien abductions and government conspiracies. ;-)

By the way, my primary machine is a T400, so I'm still in the ThinkPad family. Just hate to see this T60 sitting in the box in the closet when it could probably be a productive member of someone else's family. :-)

Any questions, PM, email, or ask via eBay.

Thanks all!

Daniel.

Good luck with the sale - I just made a bid on the system so you're up to over a $100 now. I need a system for my son and this would be a good fit.

I just bought a similar 14" SXGA+ T60 system for a friend albeit with a slower 2400 Core duo processor for about $400 shipped. eBay auction prices can be crazy low these days unfortunately and I've won auctions for the minimum bid at times (like a recent one for a lot of 3 Mini-docks and one X4 tablet dock that went for $5 with my bid being the only one made)

It's $117.50 now. Still well below market price, but you still have time. Good luck!

I am all over this, I need a T60 badly, my T30 just puked. I wish it had the 15" screen, but I can live with a 14" I guess.
T60 - 2.0ghz C2D - 4GB RAM - Travelstar 7,200rpm 500GB - 15" SXGA+, Windows 7 Pro
T42 - 1.8ghz Pentium M - 160GB Fuji - 1.5GB RAM - 15" SXGA+
T30 - 1.8ghz P4 - 160GB Fuji - 1GB RAM - 14.1" SXGA+

Thanks guys. I honestly don't have high hopes for a high sale price, and I suppose I'd be thrilled if it gets to the $500 range. In any event, whether it sells for $100 or $500 or more it will be a) more than I'd get just letting it collect dust and b) at least it will go to good use with someone else.

And if it goes to someone from the Thinkpads.com community I know it will be valued and in good hands. :-)

Daniel.

Just so you know, the final price was $494.99 + $35 shipping = $530 shipped.

can we confirm a member won the bid?
