T60 won't start

#1 Post by cspgsl » Wed Apr 22, 2009 6:45 pm

My machine went into sleep or hibernation mode (it was set to do neither in XPP) and now I cannot get it to wake up. I have hit all sorts of keys but nada. I held the start button down, removed power, removed the battery and still nothing.

I press the start button and the circle Z lights up but nothing else. There is no POST, no IBM splash screen... nothing.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Can you get into the BIOS at startup? Have you tried reseating the memory and HDD?

The standard way to reset is this: Unplug and remove the battery. Then, press the power button 10 times, holding it for a full 10 seconds on the last time.
