display screen went dark?
display screen went dark?
Can the screen go dark from messing around? I pulled the battery out/off and was going to replace my wifi card but the task is proving to be a bit more complicated than first thought.
But, the screen looks darker to me than usual. I can't find any settings for brightness (to test) and the IBM/Lenovo manual page states there is NO user guide. ?!? WHAT?!?

Re: display screen went dark?
No one knows what's going on?
I think the screen brightness increased but I plugged the laptop in. Did that do something?
I'm not happy if that's it. When I need to use wireless, the screen becomes darker? This is to conserve battery? I only get 2hrs as is, though.

Re: display screen went dark?
Brightness is controlled with the Fn + Home keys (for brighter), and the Fn + End keys (less bright). And, yeah, all the Thinkpads I've ever used are brighter on AC power than they are on battery.

Re: display screen went dark?
There's usually a setting in the BIOS which controls the brightness of the display when on AC or battery. I also believe that there's also some control over the brightness via the Thinkpad Power Management utility in Windows.

Re: display screen went dark?
Okay, thanks for the info! I'm probably just a dummy and don't know how to use my laptop (yet?).
