x200 with WXGA LED - Possible???

#1 Post by neukrisz » Thu Apr 23, 2009 12:18 am

Hi All,

one of my friend has an x200 (7459CTO) with WXGA (1280x800) display, but without camera, without UltraConnectII 2x3 antennas, it has only 3 integrated antennas (UltraConnect).

As I think, it should be LED display.

How do you think, it is possible or not?

Thanks!

No, it is certainly not LED. X200 never has LED screen.
Also, the original screen isn't Flexview. The horizontal viewing angle is fine, but once you tilt the screen a little bit, the color becomes washed out and inverted. I was fed up with the screen and decided to swap it out.

I've checked this x200's screen now again, and both directions (vertical and horizontal) viewing angle is perfect without any color change...

now, looking at the manuals, it looks to me that one could swap the x200s's led panel into the x200 if one also used the new harness (you'd loose camera, but led backlight might be worth it) any thoughts here...?

Also, how would the battery savings be on the LED backlight.. as it stands, the X200's battery life seems to HEAVILY depend on the backlight brightness, rather than hdd/cpu speed as much...

I've checked the power consumption in Power Mgr, and the lowest was 5.93W

It should be LED I guess ;)
