In many ways this thinkpad x200 is wierd
First of all, when I tried to look up the warranty, the machine didn't exist. So I called Lenovo support, they told me that the machine had the status of not having left the factory yet. He said that this happened sometimes and that I would have to send them a copy of the original reciept. (This call was of course made before I bought it
The seller emailed them the receipt and I have confirmation from Lenovo that they recieved it, and that it will take up to 4 days for them to update their system.
Here comes the wierd part
This is their description:
Product: ThinkPad X200 7458-AU2 [change]
Original description: Based on 7458-69U: P8600(2.4GHz), 2GB RAM, 160GB 7200rpm HD, 12.1in 1280x800 LCD, Intel 4500MHD, Intel 802.11agn wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1GB Ethernet, Secure chip, X200 UltraBase+CDRW/DVDRW, Camera, 9c Li-Ion, WinXP Pro
But the machine haven't got a camera
And I might be wrong, but I don't think that "Intel 802.11agn wireless" is the same as the "Intel wifi 5300" which it has.
It also has a Vista bussiness license on the back, but the support guy told that that was normal, and that it would be ok for me to use the Vista recovery discs that I have to my other X200
When I asked the support guy what I should do about the camera, well he actually spend quite alot of time trying to explain how it looked, even though I said numerous times that I knew what it looked like, as I have another X200
But I suspects that this machine will have 3 years onsite warranty, and I asked if they couldn't come out and change it, and he said that the technicians newer put anythin new in the machine, they ONLY replace parts, so that was out of the question.
Another funny thing is that the original retailer is Lenovo
Has anyone else tried getting a thinkpad thats configured wrong? How did it get solved, because I realy don't wan't to spend time sending in a brand new X200, with the risc of them making toolmarks on it.
