Out of the blue one day Client Security Solution 7.00.0022.00 started asking for password authentication, but would not accept any password that I had configured on the machine. Now I can't even get into the thinkvantage. this password authentication dialog keeps popping up. I restored my machine to a previous R&R backup but it did not work. There were similar posts I saw but they wwere not exactly the same and it was not clear how they had solved the problem. I am at the point of trying to restore to factory status but I am not sure if it would work. If anyone had this experience, please share solutions and deadends.
I have a X60s, XP sp3, although I am back to sp2 (I think) because of that R&R restore.
thanks for any help and comments.

Re: Client Security Solutions logon password
Sounds like a real pain. IBM/Lenovo support should have some sort of a trick override solution.

Re: Client Security Solutions logon password
skimming through the Lenovo support site, it sounded like they had a lot of trouble with version 7. I don't want to go to CSS v. 8 because I do not want to go to R&R V.4 and have to redo all my backups. I took out CSS and it seem to work. I don't get those popups. I have removed automatic system updates from Lenovo and investigating what else I can take out. (Does it mean I am not using the security chip anymore?) Another issue I found is PC Doctor 5 crashes my system and network when it tests my wireless. I think something may also be wrong with thickvantage access connection V4/
