Adding SXGA to an Intel T43...
Adding SXGA to an Intel T43...
So what's the deal on that? Off the top of my head, it seems that it sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. Is it off the model or what?

You might be able to get away with this on a 15" unit.
You will NOT get away with it on a 14" machine.

Why is that?ajkula66 wrote: You will NOT get away with it on a 14" machine.
I was just wondering if an Intel motherboard listed Marketplace would power that T43 14" SXGA that I picked up.
I already bought one with discrete graphics - just curious.

Is it the LCD cable? Purposely disabled component on the motherboard? I don't know.
I'm not sure that I have a proper explanation, but what I know for a fact is that many people have tried this upgrade and ALL of them failed on 14" machines...Why is that?

OK. I see that it's BIOS is restricted to XGA in the Intel T43 but not in some R52 versions.

Makes me wonder if the R52 uncrippled board that is otherwise identical to the 14" T43 has a different FRU
