You will find the model type (FRU number) of your system board under the RAM cover (bottom socket).

Thanks Harryc,
i found the FRU is 27K9987

but when i brought to IBM service centre they quote me for 27k9912

Can anyone tell me whether they are the same spec?

27K9987 / 93P4159 is for ATI M10-128, Gigabit Ethernet with security chip
27K9912 seems to be for ATI M10-128, Gigabit Ethernet with security chip and fingerprint sensor
If you don't have the FP-sensor, it should still fit.

Just make sure you inspect the motherboard before installing it, that they sent you the correct part (same GPU, CPU, FPS). Some of the motherboard part numbers are wrong on the T42 series. Saw this a year or two ago. Hopefully Lenovo has it straightened out by now.
