Is there a way to reset the rescue and recovery password in a T-22?

I've heard of a power on password, a supervisor password, a windows password, but never heard of a Rescue and Recovery password. What are the symptoms when you turn on the machine? Keep in mind that if it turns out that you have a supervisor password set, we will not discuss defeating that in this forum.

Honestly, I have not heard of this until now myself.. But my buddy called me today asking this very question.
He is pretty computer savey and said that it is not a bios password as he is able to access the bios with no problem.
The password is required sometime after the ibm button is pressed. He is able to log on to windows with no password but wants to re image the drive.

If your friend can see the BIOS settings but not change them, he has a supervisor password set. I'd assume that also might prevent someone from reimaging the drive using R&R on that laptop....not sure, but it makes sense.

I'm on the phone with him now.. I had him change the time in the bios and and he was able to without a password.. I also told him to check if the passwords were set and they all say disabled. I'm going to have him enable all passwords save and then disable and save and see if this works.
