Removing HDD screws

I just bought a new 320 GB HDD to replace the old 80 GB one in my X60s, and am having a problem with the screws that hold the old drive into the metal frame that it sits in. I've pulled the hard drive out, removed the rubber bumpers, and removed one of the screws with no difficulty, but the three others are in extremely tight and I'm afraid of stripping them if I force them. They're #0 Phillips screws, and my screwdriver just doesn't seem able to get them out. Any tips?

I my personal experience, those drive caddy screws come out fine with a little steady pressure. Just make sure the screwdriver fits well into the screw slots.

Hold the hard drive down on the table with a cloth underneath to help keep it from slipping. Hold the the drive by the SIDES, rather than press down on the top of the drive. Hard pressure from the top or bottom could damage the inside of the drive case.

Just make sure there is insulation material between the new drive's electronics and the metal drive caddy. Cut out a piece of paper to fit if need be.

Normally, the caddy will already have an insulating piece of plastic attached.

I don't know if the factory uses any sort of "Lok Tite" type material, or perhaps they are just a little too firmly driven in.

If you strip out one of the screws do not fret, the drive will stay in the caddy with just two screws.

Thanks for the advice; I'll give it another shot. And if that doesn't work it seems like replacement caddies are readily available.
